Sucralose is a zero-calorie, artificial sweetener made from sugar, about 600 times sweeter than sucrose, used in low-calorie foods, drinks and diet products for its intense sweetness and heat stability. It’s made by replacing three hydroxyl groups on sugar with chlorine atoms, making it non-metabolized by the body, with most passing through unabsorbed.
