Enzymes
Enzymes are biological catalysts that accelerate the rate of specific chemical reactions in living organisms without being consumed in the process. Nearly all metabolic processes depend on enzymes, which are usually proteins (though some are catalytic RNA molecules called ribozymes)
Industrial Applications: Enzymes are used in commercial processes such as food production (e.g., brewing beer, making cheese), biological detergents, and in medicine for diagnostics and therapeutics.
